Temple Satellite Library

Client: City of Temple
Location: Temple, Texas
Construction: New
Size: 5,000 SF
Services: Test Fit / Feasibility Study

The Temple Public Library is looking forward to the possible location for a Satellite Branch location at the Triangle, a new development planned to have a mix of commercial offices, retail shopping, and luxury townhomes. With specific program requirements from the Temple Public Library director and in conjunction with Covey Planning and Landscape Architecture, Pillar has envisioned a library that invites neighboring residents along with hike and bike pedestrians to a civic space that feels like a combination of “inviting front porch” and “beacon for learning/education”. Drawing inspiration from the dynamic movement and mood-improving benefits of natural light, the site is shaped from surrounding residential, commercial, and retail buildings that gather visitors around the entrance of the Phase I Rails to Trails, encouraging connection to the outdoors, both visually and spatially.
